What’s included:

  • The first half of the workshop will consist of a gentle, yin-style, yoga practice. This yoga practice is expertly designed to bring you into your body and help you learn how to accept and respect it in a safe and non-judgmental space. No previous yoga experience is required.

  • The second half will consist of a discussion around body image and body acceptance, card pulls, journalling and reflection. This part of the workshop is designed to help you begin thinking outside of the box when it comes to your body image.

  • A workshop designed by a multi-trained healthcare professional, with expert knowledge in yoga, nutrition counselling, body image and psychotherapy.

  • Connection with an intimate group of like-minded people.

  • Newfound inspiration and readiness to embark on your own journey of body positivity after just two hours.

Psst.. What is yin yoga?

Yin yoga is a slow-paced, quiet and contemplative practice which consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses. It is designed to improve flexibility, calm the mind and body, and reduce stress, anxiety and physical tension that can be held in the connective tissues. Yin yoga is slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Since you’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues, while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts and emotions.

Please note that all ticket sales are final and cannot be refunded.

This 3hr workshop is perfect for setting yourself up for the New Year and making time to reflect on 2023.

Combining yin yoga with the journalling process elicits calm and helps your mind and body to enter into a relaxed state, therefore helping you to access insights you may not have had otherwise. The first two hours of the workshop will be a yin yoga practice, with the final hour given over to journalling, reflecting on 2023 and setting intentions for 2024.

My Yoga Story

I remember my first yoga class, filled with the fear and anticipation that comes with walking into a room of strangers, not knowing what to expect. My experience was anything but, and I was hooked from that first class. I attended religiously every week, before going on to my 200hr training, and then two 30hr trainings to specialize in and learn about the magic of yin yoga. I truly believe that in order to grow and develop, there is nothing more effective than pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone, and opening our arms to the endless possibilities that life has to offer. My teacher training opened me up to a new community and a passion for teaching and holding space for others that I didn't even realize was there, hiding beneath the surface. I grew to love movement, when previously it had become a chore. Yoga is now my peace that can weather any storm and has become a constant in my life that will always be there to support me. It helped me connect with my own mind, body and inner self in a way that no other form of movement allowed. This element of connection now greatly informs my career as a Nutritionist and within that, helping people to become healthier, happier versions of themselves.

My classes emphasize feeling over thinking, function over aesthetics and are dynamic in nature, while instilling a sense of balance, calm, strength and relaxation. I’ve been teaching since 2018 and strive to provide an experience for every student, in every class.

I am also available for private yoga classes, either individually, or in groups and corporate classes.

My first experience of yoga with Niamh was some years ago to deal with some of the aches and stresses of a hectic lifestyle. My only regret was that I hadn’t started sooner. Niamh creates an environment which is at once calm and relaxing yet appropriately challenging for everyone involved, whatever their particular needs.
